A beautiful world Lyrics

Deep Blue Diving

I just saw a man propose to a woman, they couldn't have been more than 18

They fell in love in a beautiful garden in the heat of a midsummer dream

And he said he's gonna take care of her, and give her what she needs

She's a strange little bird, miss Alabama queen

I just saw a man with his head on the shoulder of his debutante devotee

He was looking across the cafe table making coyote's eyes at me

So I asked the waiter in the Graceland shirt, "Why did I move to Tennessee?"

And he said, "Buck up, kid, I have reason to believe you'll be received..."

So I'm synchronized swimming in the great primordial soup

And I'm just beginning to look past the truth

And I'm looking for a lover whose star's crossed with mine

I'm deep blue diving, and baby, I'm doing fine

I just saw a woman smash the windows of her ex-boyfriend’s Chevrolet

She said, “I guess the blame’s really on me, cause I only got in it for the games

Cause I don’t like it when they’re nice to me, it just doesn’t compute

When no one’s bold enough to tell the truth”

I just saw a woman button her shirt a little higher and shield her eyes

Her bio says she’s a movie character, but these days she’s just a figment of whispers and lies

Cause it’s the ones who smile the brightest, who most wanna see you bleed

Yeah, they’ll cut you down for trying to be free

So I'm synchronized swimming in the great primordial soup

And I'm just beginning to look past the truth

And I'm looking for some meaningful use of my time

I'm deep blue diving, and baby, I'm doing fine

I just saw myself in someone’s eyes and knew I was being seen

And I just felt someone hold me so tightly that they aired out all my griefs

Now I can’t help but trust ‘em, so I guess we’ll see how that goes

Took my hang ups and crushed ‘em, now I’m letting go

Cause we’re all floating away in the great absolute

And from the beginning, that’s been the truth

And the stars aren’t too far away to let up a sign

We’re deep blue diving, and baby, we’ll be alright

I'm deep blue diving, and baby, I'm doing fine

My Love, My Love, My Love

If you’re hungry, I’ll put the oven on

And if you’re tired, you can sleep in my arms

And if you’re lonely, I’ll always be your friend

And if a screw gets loose, I’ll tighten it again

But these days are different, everyone’s sad all the time

And I don’t know how to restore your faith in humankind

And turning off the news won’t make it any less real

How can I shield you from the pain that you can’t help but feel?

Well, I’ll tell you what I’m gonna do

I’m gonna change the world, darling

I’m gonna do it all for you

Change it for you

I’m gonna make it a kinder place to live in

This I swear to you

My love, my love, my love

My love, my love, my love

I’m gonna change the world for you

My love, my love, my love

My love, my love, my love

I’m gonna change the world for you

If you’re freezing, I will wrap you up

And if you’re thirsty, I will fill your cup

And if your vision’s blurry and you can’t get home

I will pick you up, I’d never leave you alone

And tomorrow when the day begins

And the yellow morning sun shines on your skin

Your laugh will ring like a bell, your smile will reach your eyes

All the blues you felt now painted into the sky

My love, my love, my love

My love, my love, my love

I’m gonna change the world for you

My love, my love, my love

My love, my love, my love

I’m gonna change the world for you

So close your eyes, and sleep real tight

I’m gonna make tomorrow alright

I love you forever, and there’s peace in sight

I’m gonna make tomorrow alright

I’m gonna make tomorrow alright

half the time

Blackberry canyons, rooftop sinkholes

Ventura highways, unpaved backroads

Tower of Babel, Rosetta stones

Band of disciples, feeling alone

Texas sunrise, sleeping in late

Going fishing, not taking the bait

Frantic repression, evident fate

Pipe dreams to clog up, and gold to create

Whoa

It keeps eating at me and I’m starting to fray

When you move, your colors start shifting

And you go on and change, but I just stay the same

And a hint of the veil is lifting

Telling me something’s wrong

Something’s wrong and that’s the truth

Don’t you dare look at me with pity when I stick around for you

Drunk ballerinas, wallflower sighs

Dr. Jekyll, Mr. Hyde

Laugh like a monkey, puppy dog eyes

Suffocating summer air and clear, blue skies

Whoa

It keeps eating at me and I’m starting to fray

When you move, your colors start shifting

And you go on and change, but I just stay the same

And a hint of the veil is lifting

Telling me something’s wrong

Something’s wrong and that’s the truth

Don’t you dare look at me with pity when I stick around for you

Don’t you dare look at me with pity when I stick around for you

Rainbow scarves, ripped blue jeans

Baking soda, kerosene

What you say, and what you mean

Half the time, this gets to me

after you’re gone

The first time I got lost was in November

I didn’t know I missed you till I found your empty chair

I thought of all the times I can’t remember

The times that you were with me, but I didn’t see you there

A stone dropped into water makes a ripple

The stone sinks to the bottom, but the ripple carries on

I know I can’t explain life’s many riddles

But I still feel you with me

Long after you’re gone

Last night I stared out into the darkness

And I picked out the star that looked the most like you

Tonight I looked again but couldn’t find it

I guess while life kept moving, the stars were moving, too

A stone dropped into water makes a ripple

The stone sinks to the bottom, but the ripple carries on

I know I can’t explain life’s many riddles

But I still feel you near me

Long after you’re gone

Now I’m sitting in the room you lived and died in

Trying to make music with the things you left behind

Late at night, it’s you I still confide in

Tell me, am I reaching, or are you sending me a sign?

A stone dropped into water makes a ripple

The stone sinks to the bottom, but the ripple carries on

I know I can’t explain life’s many riddles

But I still feel you love me

Long after you’re gone

Oh, I still feel you love me

Long after you’re gone

magnolia tree

Life moves like a train

With no conductor, no tracks and no brakes

Life can feel like a game

Where they change the rules every time that you play

And I can’t count all the ways

My plans have been dashed by some new twist of fate

But still I know, it’s a truth beyond faith

That I will be looking on your smiling face

Under the magnolia tree

Some sunny day

Under the magnolia tree

Yeah, I’ll meet you there when things turn out okay

Today has stolen my pride

Tracing the tracks of the tears from my eyes

Today no matter how hard I tried

I stayed in the dark, could not turn on the light

And I have never been the type

To ignore the road while I’m searching for signs

But still I know in my heart that it’s right

And I will be seeing you, seeing me, seeing you, sometime

Under the magnolia tree

Some starry night

Under the magnolia tree

Yeah, I’ll meet you there when things turn out alright

You win and you lose

There’s greens and there’s blue

But we’re gonna pull through

Cause I’ll be seeing you

Under the magnolia tree

Some sunny day

Under the magnolia tree

Yeah, I’ll meet you there when things turn out okay

Under the magnolia tree

Some starry night

Under the magnolia tree

Yeah, I’ll meet you there when things turn out alright

a beautiful world

Where have all the angels gone?

I just wanna talk

They’re in the jingle-jangle morning-light

Shrouded in a cloud of fog

And I know you’re always strung up

Like a puppet to your heartstrings

Can’t help caring

And it’s scaring you today

So tend you your dreamland

Nurture it with love

The only hope for tomorrow

Is what we dream of

Cause I know you’re a romantic

With your chin resting on your knuckles

With your sweet tooth, honeysuckle

It’s alright

It’s alright

When the wind knocks down your castle walls

Leaving you exposed as the hard rain falls

When you think you’ll wash away

I’ll hold you down

And all I ask for in return

Is you understand how much you’re worth

This barren ground is a beautiful world

With you around
